![]() Tuesday, April 29, 2008Day 2 of the course. Note to self - never tell a well engineer you're a geologist, because for the rest of the day/course, said well engineer will continuously take the piss out of the geologist. So far it's been ok, but was really quite bored yesterday, because he was going through some really basic stuff that I'd gone through before at uni and at my last course. Today was marginally more interesting. Maybe I'm just not used to sitting around listening to a lecturer for long periods of time anymore. Looking forward to Thursday, we get a site visit to the rig yay! :)Yesterday stayed over at the girls' flat, with the intention of staying up and watching horror films together. By the time we actually played the dvd, after dinner and catching up with N who I hadn't seen in a while, it was 11. And I fell asleep pretty much right after the film started lol! Also, finally managed to meet Shasha's Callie and she is just as cute, if not cuter than in the video and pictures!! :D Looking for an apartment to rent for my stay in London. Gloucester Road, or Bayswater ah... hmmm... xoxoxoxoxoxoxo ~MockingBird~ { 11:53 }

What? Is it really possible that Shasha's Callie can be cuter in life than vid?! Hehe. Anyway, happy 6 months haha. ;)
callie smells. i hate her. cos she's fat. hahahah. hi guys! F, CONGRATULATIONS ON PASSING THE 6 MONTH MARK! 1 more month to go for me.... You're right btw, no sign of a form :\ Also, I just realised you'll be gone in a few days? Anyhoo, enjoy your stay and congrats on your graduation also! Have an excellent time in 'civilisation'! I soo envy you right nowww.. Grrr! hehe Post a Comment Thursday, April 24, 2008Had my faith in human kindness reaffirmed today. I had gone to the bank to pay off some bills through the ATM machine, and for some reason or other, decided to put my sunglasses on top of the machine instead of just pushing it up on my head like I usually do. And of course, I completely forgot about my glasses til I finished doing all my errands and was back in my car about 20 minutes later and noticed my sunnies missing. Retraced my steps and remembered placing it on top of the ATM and ran back into the bank to see if anyone had turned it in. I didn't have much hope of ever finding it again to be honest, and the first lady I asked wasn't very helpful, she just shrugged and told me that if it wasn't there, it's probably gone. But I made her ask her colleagues, just in case, and lo and behold someone HAD handed them in, to one of the tellers :) :) So to that super nice person, thank you for handing my sunnies over, may many good things happen to you!So spent my second day off in the office, trying to get my probation letter sorted out before the week is out, cause I need to apply for my graduation leave. And wouldn't you just know it, noone I wanted to see was in! So I have to come in tomorrow too! And on top of that, my geology supervisor's just asked me to come in for 8 am! Week off, hah! :P So far my schedule looks like this: Office tomorrow, weekend off, start a 5 day course Monday to Friday, straight back onsite on Friday til Tuesday, do a career exhibition on Tuesday, and flying off on Thursday! Hectic, much?? Barely any time to sit down and watch the bucketloads of dvds I've bought over the past 2 days! My parents've said that they can't make it to my graduation this time... I feel slightly upset, but at the same time I understand their reasons. P will be there for me, anyways. And this means I can spend time with my friends without feeling torn in multiple directions, trying to spend time with my friends, my parents and, over the weekend, my EP00 friends. Things have a way of sorting themselves out eventually. Finally met up with Shasha and E for our very overdue sushi dinner last night, and as always I totally overate! It was worth it though, I'd been craving sushi for a long time, and it's always better with such good company :) Still haven't seen the kids though, must stop by sometime next week to say hello. xoxoxoxoxoxox Wednesday, April 23, 2008On my week off now, but still have to come into the office for various reasons. Bleh. Also, starting a 5 day course on well engineering from Monday on, so I technically only have.... 3 days off? Oh well. I prefer going out and meeting my friends and colleagues than just staying in anyways. Although I do want to just sit and watch the tens of dvds I've just bought today.2 hours of aerobics tomorrow. I've started to build up a shield in order to deflect the weight comments I got last week too :P Men. Pft. Longer post next time! xoxoxoxoxoxoxox Friday, April 11, 2008For the first time in Brunei, I actually opted out of using the car to get to my dance class at the studio that's quite near my house. It's about a 4 minute drive, which translates into roughly 10-15 minute walk? Not far at all, but under the hot afternoon sun?? Terasa jua eh :P It didn't help that when I got there I found the studio closed and locked up!! Immediately called my dad up to pick me up, malas to walk all the way back haha.. Walking's just not the norm here is it... everytime a car passed by they'd inevitably slow down to look at this random girl walking. Not one of them offerred me a ride though :(Anyways this dance/aerobics studio I'm talking about is Nem's Fitness, and they have a branch in Pandan Kb too. Never been to any of their classes before, but yesterday I tried out their latin aerobics, and it was easily one of the best classes I've been to. Good music, very cool instructor, and, unlike a couple of the classes I've been to in other places, you dance for the full hour. Not dance for half an hour, and then do weights for the rest. Fair enough if that's what some people are into, but I prefer to dance the whole time. Will try again tomorrow, they've got ballroom followed by hip hop scheduled in the evening. But I think I'll take my car this time, not risking walking over there for nothing again :P Also, I went for a spa treatment at a spa/massage place that's also just newly opened in this complex. Definitely a much needed treat, the masseuse was really good. Although for the first time in my many years of going for massages, she massaged my bum! It hurt, too! :P Not too keen on that part, but everything else was nice... And after my body scrub, I went for a shower/bath in this sunken bath, very luxurious. Lol I predict I'll be spending a lot of my off time/money at this complex, I love that everything's so close to my house! Now all I need is for a bookshop to open up, and I'd quite happily never leave Lumut again! Have a good weekend everyone!! xoxoxoxoxooxoxox ~MockingBird~ { 08:07 }

One reason why I don't walk in Brunei is the heat. Singapore, I can stand. But Brunei is just different. And I think it's also because I am very, very, very used to using cars to get around in Brunei.
I once walked from one place to my aunt's, I realized I had to pass by a cemetery way after I chose to walk. Haha you sure you want some stranger to give you a ride?? Hehe. Post a Comment Thursday, April 10, 2008Back in civilisation and off for a week wahey!! Well.. not really a week cause I've just spent 2 of those days at an onboarding course, and will likely spend another day of it in the office :P So 4 off days wahey! Lol..Things I missed while I was on site: 1. My full length mirror. The only mirror on site was a tiny bathroom one that I shared with a guy. Didn't realise how much I'd come to rely on being able to see myself fully til I could only see bits of myself at a time lol! 2. Being able to wear my hair down. For safety reasons, any long hair should be put up, so my hair was perpetually in a bun. Good thing was that made my hair all wavy, and I didn't have to spend too long drying it in the morning. 3. Having someone to talk to. It was weird being in a new place, where, if you had to vent or talk about something slightly personal, there isn't really anyone you can talk to, unless you call people up. But even then you can't have a private conversation cause the phones are all in shared office/cabins. 4. Female company! I was the only girl on site for a few days, but then we got a new female medic. But I didn't really hang out with her, the only other people around my age are guys. 5. Wearing my accessories. Again for safety reasons, no jewellery or watches allowed while working on site so my arms and neck and ears were completely bare! Felt a bit weird, cause I never take off my rings or necklace. Also, wearing normal clothes like jeans and skirts and tshirts! I was in coveralls the whole day, and PJs and night :P I'm determined to make the most of my off week; went to aerobics this morning, and have a 2 hour spa session planned for tomorrow :) I'm getting a bit of a complex about my weight though, a couple of guys on the rig have made cracks about my weight!! I've learnt to ignore it, but at the same time, am quite annoyed that they think it's ok to make fun of an issue that is very sensitive for girls, even though they hardly know me!! Don't know, maybe that's just what they're like??? Bit of a hodgepodge post, I apologise, but not much else to write about really. Have a good weekend all! xoxoxoxoxoxox |
