![]() Monday, May 28, 2007Last day of exams tomorrow and what a bitch it's going to be, 2 papers of 4 different topics and 3 hours each. 6 hours in the same freaking room!! And I haven't even finished studying. Shit. But my motivatation has been at an all time low, it's like I just don't care. The other exams went shit as well. Mind's working very quickly now, and fingers almost cannot keep up. Very hyper and very PMS-ed. Horrible timing. Then project presentation on Friday, then.. well.. it's a surprise. Not a happy one though. Well....ok must stop babbling and get on with things. It's my birthday on Wednesday! How'd that happen?? xoxoxox Wednesday, May 16, 2007Ladies and gents, welcome to a newcomer to my link list:http://cake4me.wordpress.com Auntie Zainab is her lovely mom and she's also an accomplished wedding-cake maker, most recently Jenny M's cake :) Show Auntie some love okies? hehe xoxox ![]() Back in town again today; I got myself a nice dress/long top from Topshop yesterday and as I usually do, I just bought it in my size without trying it on. Well it fit perfectly, only problem was, it wasn't a dress, it a was a playsuit! I.e. it's got leg holes at the bottom. No chance in heck would I wear that, I may keep an eye on fashion, but I'm no fashion victim! :P That'll teach me not to try things out; but look at the picture though, does it not look like a cute dress? xoxoxo Tuesday, May 15, 2007/start rant Hmm.. I do wish people would tell me the truth instead of lying or glossing over things instead. The first time it happened, it hurt my feelings. The second and third, still got hurt. After multiple times, I just don't care anymore. If people want to keep up a facade that's fine, just don't expect me to trust them.Ugh. /end rant Labels: rant And got the second piercing done yesterday lol. The piercer was very amused to see me back there one day later. Got a purple stud put in this time but I kinda wish I had put a different colour in, the purple doesn't show up very well in the light. One more week to exams eek!! xoxox Tag replies: war - hehe it's not that bad you know, it's over pretty quickly :) It's just a phase I'm going through, piercings are *so* addictive! sha - Apparently its unofficially one of the most painful piercings you can do, after the nipples and genitalia. But then again its all relative I reckon? And like I said, the pain doesn't last very long, this second one didn't even hurt lol Sunday, May 13, 2007Finally went out to get my cartilage repierced today. Had it done in 2nd year at Claire's Accessories, but it was done by a gun and it never really healed properly. Took the stud out earlier this year and this bump behind my ear where the cartilage's regrown back over the piercing. Not cool. So anyways, learnt my lesson that time and made sure I went to a proper piercer's this time round to get it done with a needle. Photos follow below :) It hurts more with a needle but it's better for the healing process apparently. It was cheap too, only a tenner! The piercer was one of the scariest looking men I've seen before, half his face was covered with tattoos, he had septum piercings, multiple tongue piercings, lip piercings, etc. But Steve(n?) was one of the nicest guys I've met, he was really friendly and professional and explained the whole piercing and taking care of it process to me. In fact, 5 hours later, I'm already thinking of getting a second one done, underneath the first one lol!Comments? :) I. Need. To. Work!!! xoxoxox Probably 20 minutes after I had it done, it was throbbing *so* much, hence the redness Meh. Just remembered why ensuite halls are *so* much better than sharing toilets and bathroom with 16 other people....Because when you're taking your own shower, you don't have to listen to the people in the cubicle next to you making out. Or listen to the girl asking her boyfriend to "please smack her". amongst other things. God help my abused ears. At least in ensuite halls, if any such shenanigans did go on, your neighbour in the shower cubicle next door doesn't have to listen as well! Hope everyone's had a good weekend, the weather's shit here, there goes my plans to go out today boo. xoxoxo Saturday, May 12, 2007Back to Soton today. Getting slightly panicked about the amount of days left to my exams vs the amount of revision I have left to do, i.e. not enough vs too much! Hopefully the next few days I'll be able to buckle down; how did I go from having 3 weeks left to my exams to having a week left in such a short time?? :(Thursday night was good; the party started at 8, but the birthday girl was pretty much inebriated by about 930 lol! She seemed to really like her present of a wine tasting course here in London, but to be honest, I'm not sure she really knew what we got her; she couldn't read properly when we finally gave her her present lol...It was good seeing the other people again, and it made me feel better about my revision; most people seem to be in the same boat as me. Went to watch 28 weeks later yesterday. It was good, possibly scarier than the first one, but I left the cinema with a headache. I get like that after horror films, I concentrate so much on trying not to be scared, and I also get slightly depressed lol. Makes you wonder why I even bother huh.. Suffice to say 28 weeks later did not have a happy ending. It was freaky when they were wandering through a dead London; London is never, never quiet, and it was eerie to see them walking through a completely empty Picadilly Circus, Regent's Park and Wembley (well empty save for the zombie anyways). Anyways I leave you now with some photos from Thursday, enjoy! xoxox Tag replies: Qiyah - Thanks for dropping by.. Lol that's ok, we've not really spoken when we were in BH anyways :) Nana - Thank you hun, I'm gonna need it :P when're yours finished?? Group photo! Thursday, May 10, 2007Waiting for P to come back so we can get back to London this afternoon. It's amazing how quickly boys mess up their rooms, it looks like we've been here for months as opposed to a couple of days! Let's not even talk about the floor (as if, you can't see it for all his clothes) :PQuite looking forward to London actually, where I have my own toilet and kitchen, as opposed to sharing with millions of people. I've already planned what ready made meals to get from the supermarket for the next time I stay in Soton...It's too much effort to go shopping for pots and pans for such a short stay, although I have bought a kettle for the room, so I don't have to go traipsing down the building for a cup of tea or coffee. Another random post from me lol.. And speaking of random, I had the weirdest (and violent) dream last night. I dreamt that I shot out the kneecaps of this woman who annoyed me. And I also told her if she got on my nerves again I'd do more than that next time. I even freaked myself out when I woke up! =S Right, time for some more studying, sequence stratigraphy of carbonates anyone? xoxox Mona - Me thinks you're right lol! You should do the same and post woman! ;o) Not sure when I'll be back in London, most probably Thursday next week, so dinner over the weekend? xxx Wednesday, May 09, 2007My favourite time of the month is mid-month, cause that's when all the women's monthlies come out! Lol...I spend so much ever month, getting all the glossies I can get my hands on! Not too sure why, I think it was carried over from my dad who used to buy every magazine under the sun when it was a new month, and then wouldn't finish reading this month's stack of mags before buying a new stack the next month. Such a bad habit I know, and very expensive! That's also not to mention the weeklies that I sometimes get, when I feel like it. The weird thing is, when I buy my monthly stash I usually wouldn't touch them til it was almost time for next month's mags to come out because I'm afraid I'll run out of reading material before next month. Lol! Now, anyone who knows me knows this is utterly impossible, because in my room I have not only stacks of unread mags, but also books. Hundreds of books that I haven't read cause I just don't have the time, yet I keep buying because...well..I can't explain why really. When I see an interesting book, I *have* to have it, in case it runs out =S My place in Brunei has loads of books scattered everywhere; til some of them have to be packed in boxes, never to see the light of day again. And here, I have 2 bookcases full of unread books, one in my room and the other in the lounge. Also not to forget, my overflowing magazine rack. Lol! Maybe one day when I'm as broke as I've never been before, I can sell them all, in order to buy the newest books and magazines :P I'm a certified bookworm me. I suppose that's a good thing, I'm sure my love for reading has contributed to how my English has developed, but at the same time, my room is probably a fire hazard from all the paper I have in there!Let's list out the magazines I have to buy every month (and week): 1. Heat - less regular now, I used to buy it every Tuesday when it comes out, in fact Tuesday is still my favourite day of the week cause it's magazine day. Oh and I also used to buy Now and/or Star along with it, even though all the stories in it are the same. And probably false. 2. More - Such a trashy magazine, but I can't help myself! 3. Glamour - One of my must have mags, I get upset if I don't get it on the day it comes out. Fortunately, I subscribe to this one, so I usually get it a day earlier than everyone else. Happiness lol! 4. Cosmopolitan - Another must have, not that I ever do any of their famous quizzes. I like the pretty colours and fun articles too. 5. Marie Claire - This one caters to a more high earning crowd with their designer clothes I think. However they have really good articles about hard to tackle subjects. or just plain weird ones. 6. Company - Grown up version of Cosmogirl, Sugar, and the lot. gives good freebies too, this month's copy came with a pair of flipflops, just in time for the summer :) 7. New Woman - I don't buy this too often anymore, cause I usually end up not reading them before throwing them away. A bit of a mixed magazine, not my favourite. 8. People - American weekly with all the new gossip about the stars. Much more worth the money that Heat, at least the stars in People are actual celebs instead of two-bit reality tv shows like they have in Heat. And there you go, a list of where part of my money disappears to every month. Once, when I was younger and sillier, I also used to buy the American versions of some of the magazines, but they're full of ads, and I just don't enjoy reading them as much as I do the British ones. Plus, it used to frustrate me that I can't find the clothes they have in their fashion spreads, cause obviously there aren't many American retailers in the Uk. Lol! What a random post. Managed to waffle along to make it extra long too heheh.. And now I think the newest Heroes will have finished downloading so I'm off to see how the world is going to be saved by this bunch of misfits now. Til next time! xoxoxo Tuesday, May 08, 2007
Ah... Back in Southampton, I haven't been here in months! Thought I'd stay here for the week, need to get away from London and all its distractions and temper inducers. The weather here seems better than in London too. Only problem is the high speed internet in P's halls may cause me more distraction than ever (can you say video streaming? lol!) But I'm gonna try my best to buckle down and study my ass off this week since I haven't done anything since about Friday! Time is slowly ticking by and before I know it it's going to be the day before the exam and I won't have learnt anything yet! I remember how much I actually like Soton, with its small (but everything's there) high street, gorgeous restaurants, cheap Odeon and my favouritest place ever, Shakeaway! Click on the link by the way. Best of all it's only an hour and a half from my place, as opposed to four and a half hours last year lol! Weekend was really really good, M and R came over and it was like they hadn't left. Was slightly worried we wouldn't have anything to talk about after so long but it didn't feel like I hadn't seen either of them since last summer :) We were quite effiicient in showing them round our normal hangouts I think, we managed to go to Portobello with its sausage and mash cafe and Hummingbird bakery, onwards to Camden where P got a massage and me and M got a dress each, and finally down to the park where we met up with N for a spot of rowing. We also watched Next with Nicholas Cage on the Saturday they arrived, and hit Trocadero for some gaming and Chinatown/Leicester Square for some sights :) Lol! Told you it was a productive 48 hours. Speaking of Next, it wasn't a bad film, although it had the crappiest ending I've seen in a film for a long time! Should've watched Bridge to Terabithia instead bleh. It's a coursemate's birthday this Thursday and we're all off for a much needed night out I think.. I haven't seen the IC crowd since the last exam 2 weeks ago! Anyways I better hop off before the whole day disappears and I've done jackshit about revision lol.. Will leave you guys with some photos! xoxoxo Saturday, May 05, 2007Wahey it's a long weekend!! My friends're coming over in approximately 3 hours, so going to try and fit it at least a couple hours worth of work this weekend lol! Work has gone down the toilet recently; I was ill and then tried studying for the hardest exam ever.Snotty F + Hard as heck module = tears + tantrums =/ But I'm feeling much better now, therefore I should be a lot more productive. Well here's hoping anyways lol. Watched Spiderman 3 last night. So. Good. It was different from the first 2, there were a lot of comedy moments, and I just realised last night how much of a geek Peter Parker really is! A couple of new characters were introduced too, Eddie Brock played by Topher Grace and Flint Marco played by Thomas Haden Church. You guys may recognise Topher as Eric Forman from the 70s show? He was the geeky ginger kid, but in Spidey he was a lot more..rugged and grown up and actually quite fanciable! His hair colour's been tamed down a lot too lol! And let's not forget the droolworthy James Franco back as Harry, the hobgoblin. Fit. As. The Sandman and Venom were the new villains introduced in this film, and Venom looks brilliant, exactly as he was drawn in the comics. I've always had a soft spot for Venom/Eddic Brock, he just looked so cool lol! It's a long film, about 2 hrs 40 minutes, but I didn't feel the time at all; I've always been a bit of a fangirl though, so I was riveted :P Bottom line : Definitely worth a watch, even though you haven't seen the first two, even just for the cute guys in it heheh... Love the summer, that's when all the blockbusters start coming out. For example, I've got plans to watch Pirates of the Carribean 3, Shrek the Third, Oceans Thirteen, just to start off lol..Pirates is coming out in a couple of weeks actually, on the day of one of my exams, so will definitely be catching that after to unwind.. Right. Done now. Y'all have a good weekend!! xoxoxo Tag Replies: Sha - LA was cool, but it was a lot dodgier and maybe dingy-er than I thought it would be? Not that I'd complain if I was living there I suppose lol. Preferably in one of those Beverly Hills mansions? :P War - Thanks hun, that dress was from a market here, SO cheap, probably about $36 saja kali.. :) Wednesday, May 02, 2007 Lol doesn't he look pleased with himself there...
Waiting for Heroes to download onto my computer right now.. Life's settled into a routine as of late. Wake up when alarm goes off at 9; shower, sort out my stuff for the day and leave to use the internet at Cafe Nero. Yep, been at Cafe Nero everyday for about a week and a half now. Since I don't have internet at home (boo!) decided to get myself a month's internet usage here; tons better than going to some dingy internet cafe and best of all I can use my own lappie too.I feel that my lack of updates over the past month has lost me my (few) readers. If anyone's still reading, please let me know on the tagboard okies? Ok. =) Work's going oh so slowly, I can't seem to motivate myself to work as hard as I should be doing. A big part of that is due to the fact that I have about 3 weeks til my next 4 exams, so even though that isn't much my mind keeps telling me that I can relax it's ages away! I can see this ending in tears soon enough :P Feeling a bit ill today too, runny nose and sore throat, just the last thing I need! Been taking 0ut my exam stresses on P the poor boy..Been such a bitch recently, and he's being unbelievably patient with me bless him. Not sure what I'd do without him there to calm me down and cheer me up when I'm freaking out. I lucked out with this one ladies :) I may not have mentioned it before but I'm back home in about a month or so for summer, and to do my final project. The shit thing is, I'll probbaly be the only one going home, the rest of my group are staying here, either in Scotland or in uni..I'm the only one going home cause my supervisor at home said they want me to come back. I'm going to have no friends at home! So, coming back about early June and coming back to London end of August to finally, finally wrap up my education. Then in November I finally enter the working world insyalllah. Scary or what? Already looking forward to the money I'll be earning instead of spending; made travel plans already, specifically to visit my friends in Aberdeen and Norway. Oh, and P in Liverpool obviously...Lol! Advanced planning much? Seeing as how I haven't even passed my exams yet lol... It's weird, I feel that I've become closer to more people on this one year course than during my 3 years at Leeds. I guess this is a function of the fact we're around each other 24/7 what with classes, projects and fieldtrips. It's either be friends or kill each other I suppose. On a completely unrelated note, I just have to tell you guys what happened during one of the days we were in the field. We were taken to this outcrop where all the rocks were white and we were told that they were white because evaporites (i.e. salt compunds) had been dissolved by running water leaving behind the white caprock. So there was a chance that the rocks would be very salty. So, being true geologists, a lot of us, picked a piece of rock up and licked/tasted it as soon as we heard, to see if we could taste the saltiness. Not two seconds after I licked this rock, the lecturer goes "...But do NOT try tasting these rocks, they contain poisonous trace elements, like arsenic." Cue simultaneous spitting and washing out of mouth with water from me and my friends lol! Can't blame us though, true geologists always put rocks in their mouth, as a matter of course. Have to admit I was feeling slightly queasy the whole day after that, and got very paranoid about my tongue swelling up and me dropping dead of arsenic poisoning. But I must be fine if I've gotten this far, right? And on that note, I'm off to watch Heroes! xoxoxo |
