Hope everyone has had a good weekend and/or Chinese New Year? I went to Chinatown on the Sunday to check ouott he festivities there and my god it was so crowded! Everyone was packed so close together they were likethis! Everyone had to go in the same direction, if you attempted to go against the crowd, iut was like salmon trying to swim upstream. I could barely see the lions above everyone else's head. And then you had some silly people who were dragging their trolley bags through the crowd, and worst of all strollers with babies in them! I mean, what's the point?? The kid isn't going to remember it, he's hardly going to enjoy the crowd and there's a good chance someone is gonna fall onto the stroller! Dumbasses. Never again, give me the less crowded Chung Ching lion dance performance anyday.

Starting the Barrel Awards today, I'm praying it's not as intense at the Wytch Farm project. I don't think I couold do 5 straight weeks of hell. Not to mention I also have a report and presentation to preapre for in 3 weeks. Aiyo. So, to prepare for the coming weeks ahead, I decided to make myself a good dinner and get an early night's sleep. So Ihsan, I tried out your buttermilk chicken recipe for msyself and it actually turned out pretty good! Was a bit too hot in the beginning but I just added more sugar and it was all good =) There was a minor setback when I wanted to cook myself some rice though. I opened up the ricecooker, and oh my god the pot was so fungi infected that I thought we were growing broccoli in there! It was literally all green and very little white (rice). I think if it had been left a few more days it'd probably evolve into an intelligent being and walk out of the ricecooker by itself. Ick =/

Oooh I'm feeling the pain of that class yesterday now..Guess my poor system got a shock yesterday morning lol..Skived my afternoon lecture yesterday cause me and a friend knew we wouldn't get much out of it anyways, the guy was very ** (big UK company) oriented. His lectures in the morning was full of his company's TLAs (three letter acronyms). A bit useless unless you were working for them, I thought. So off I went with my friend and P after lunch to do some spending. Well, for my friend to do some spending anyways; she was planning on getting herself a laptop so we went around the whole of TCR to get her the best deal. Not just any laptop mind you, the newest, most mahal Vaio. And obviously it *had* to have the finger scanning capability and the carbon fibre body. Sigh...never dropped that much money for anything* in my life before. Me being me, I refused to let her pay for anything until we got, along with her computer, a laptop bag, a mouse, and a year's internet security thrown into the deal lol..P says I'm relentless with my demands, but I just don't understand why we shouldn't get a bag and a mouse along with our purchase, it seems a bit silly.

On our way home, we walked through Oxford Street and found this new shop, Beard Papa's. Apparently its the first and only store in Europe. It's a tiny little pastry shop selling the most heavenly cream puffs ever! One bite of the warm rice cake interior and you're through to the fresh cream and vanilla custard filling. SO good!

Got my new group allocation for my new group project. Doesn't seem too bad although I'm in a group of 4 while most people are in groups of 5, so that means more work for everyone. =/ I should enjoy this weekend to the fullest cause from now on, looks like its all work work work again. Got our grades back from the first project too, and we did pretty well considering how we messed our presentation up. Quite pleased actually, we were actually placed in the top 5 of the class. Let's hope for a repeat performance this time round.

Off to Chinatown tomorrow to check out the Chinese New Year festivities with my friends, should be good, it's been ages since I've seen a proper lion dance =) Not to orget all the yummy treats they're sure to have!

Guess who's just done 45 minutes of Boxercise and *still* managed to shower, eat and come in for my 9 am class?? Heheh... today marks the start of Operation Bikini Body for Utah (plus I'm getting porky =P) Was supposed to go with a friend but she bailed on me, gonna drag her along next time! There's gonna *have* to be a next time cause I've just bought 10 classes worth of tickets for the gym.


...5 p I fall asleep within the first 10 minutes of class lol

It's only Tuesday and I'm already itching for the weekend! Next week onwards til the end of term is going to be an absolute nightmare because we're starting another major (5 weeks!) group project. We're also getting the results of my last, nightmarish group project this Friday. Bleh. I guess it can go either way, I could end up with an amazing group like I (sort of) did for Wytch Farm, or I could get the short end of the stick and get a group like my friend F last term. Hmm.. guess we'll find out soon enough.

Weekend was very very very relaxed; C and A came to visit and it was good to catch up on news with them. Also spent some time (and loads of money) at the Trocadero arcade; I'm definitely going back this weekend for that drumming game lol! Oh and I should also mention that I ran into Mel and gang at Queensway where Mel managed to get hit in the lip with a foosball puck? Lol! Hope it's all better now hun!

Reading one of her recent posts made me interested in piercings again! I'd love to get my upper ear re-pierced, I took my old one out a couple of months ago after I accidentally pulled the ring out and then couldn't be bothered to put it back in =P This time I'm planning on going to a proper piercing parlour as opposed to crappy Claire's Accessories. And I still really want a nose piercing but my friends've convinced me that people in the office would probably not appreciate it?

Booked my tickets to Leeds for the 10th of March for a Happy Granby Birthday(s) so I have something to look forward to in the doom and gloom that is my group project!

Back to classes for me after a horrible field trip and a weekend that made up for it all.

The fieldtrip was as expected, wet and cold. There was a lot of hill climbing,and even worse, there was lotsof climbing to look at rocks, getting to the top after a hard hour's trek and then realising you can't see 2 feet in front of you because of low cloud cover. And your lecturer makes you climb back down again 20 minutes later, *after* making us attempt a writeup in the freezing rain! Man..the life of a geologist..can't beat it lol!

Friday was supposed to be a day off because we had no lecturers coming in, but I came in to help with the uni's open day (and to get some free M&S lunch lol!)It was a good day, brought the students around my campus and even managed to meet up with 4 of my ex coursemates. According to them I haven't changed much, hope that's a good thing heheh..

K and N came over that night and we went out for some burgers and gossip. I was knackered from my long days before the weekend but with the girls being here, I couldn't sleep without catching up! S arrived the next day, and we were off to Camden. Spent the whole day (and a whole lot of money) while we were there. Most of it on food, there're some amazing food stalls in Camden on a Saturday...We just nevr seemed to get full! Got some skirts and earrings too..Later on in the night we ate even more at my favourite Chinese, and even though we were an hour late for our boooking, we still managed to get in due to N's chinese speaking abilities and her flirtiness too, I suspect lol! We met up with S to go out in Leicester Square and we ended up not in some nice London club/bar, but in O Neills!! It was the worst place I'd been to, full of chavs, and it played horrible music *and* I got burnt by a cigarette! To top it off, I actually had to pay 6 pounds for that lovely experience! Me and my friends were in a rage after about 10 minutes, but we stayed for an hour before we finally had to leave. Went back to Bayswater and spent what was left of the night in a Moroccan place. Should've done that from the beginning, we'd have been much happier.

K was going home on Sunday so we got up extra early to hit Portobello. I feel they preferred Camden more but we all went mad in the Hummingbird bakery, which I think is the best bakery in the Uk!Me and S bought like a million cupcakes each lol. Then went back to our (new favourite) Moroccan and proceeded to stuff our faces with houmous and sweets..Like I said, it was more of an eating weekend than anything else! Sent K off at King's Cross, and me, P and N went trawling round Leicester Square and Chinatown. Spent *far* too much money in the arcade and then, yep you guessed it, stuffed our faces yet again! =/ Towards the end of the night I was getting quite snorty and sniffly, I think my body had finally had enough after the field trip and a tiring weekend.

The rest of the girls went home on Monday, and poor N, who left early to catch a 7 am train was stuck on her train for 6 hours because it ran out of power! She could've used the extra 6 hours to sleep or to wander round London more! Monday wsa uneventful, was properly ill by then and as soon I got back from classes, I had dinner and was off to bed by 9! Tuesday, was still ill and decided to take a sickie. It wasn't anything I couldn't catch up on anyways...

Need to get rid of this cold quickly, C and A are coming over this weekend, and I don't wanna be a sniffly puss even then! By the way am finishing this post and publishing it at a cafe near mine that has free internet access for their customers! Well, the first 30 minutes are free anyways, after that who knows how much it's going to cost me?! Would have been so much cheaper to just go to an internet cafe but I wanted to use my own lappie, he's not been getting much loving recently poor thing. I have no internet in the house because the people we were leeching off obviously decided to cut access off! Now if we only had our own account this wouldn't be a problem but because we don't actually have internet of our own to speak of, it is a major problem! The only time I can use the internet is at uni, and I don't really fancy staying later just for this.

*grumble*
