Hellllloooooo everyone!!

I am finally, finally, finally free of Bytch Farm! Christmas break started yesterday at 5pm and it felt amazing! Never have I looked forward to Christmas break as much as I have this year. We got our project report in 10 minutes before the deadline and it was good, but it was quite an anticlimax as well. After handing it in, I felt a bit... aimless, like I had no purpose in life anymore. I didn't have a clue what to do after lol. It was really similar to the feeling I had after I handed my dissertation in. To be honest, it was probably the same amount of work, but a much shorter time. Anyways, that feeling lasted about....10 minutes? Then we were off to the union for some fun and games lol! It was strange saying bye to my coursemates as well, we'd been seeing each other pretty much 24/7 the past month and now we weren't gonna be meeting up for a month? Although it probably wouldn't be long before I get sick of them again next month heh.

In terms of the project, let's just say I wasn't too happy with it in the end. I feel that some people (ok, just one person) didn't really contribute much to the team, although it wasn't for a lack of trying on his part bless him. This person just doesn't seem to have much experience in...anything. I mean, fair enough if you're not geologiclly confident, I'm no geology expert, but you can at least contribute to other things. Our presentation was...a disaster. Mostly because, even after many practice runs, this person just basically.. messed up. We were on a very tight schedule of 18 minutes to present our 3 week project. And with 6 people, we were limited to 3 minutes per person. After about 10 trials, excluding individual practice at home, we had our time down to just over 18 minutes. The rest of the group was worried about this one person because he just couldn't seem to..string his words together to form a coherent sentence. Even after telling him *exactly* what to say he couldn't do it. When we suggested that he write down some bullet points to hep him remember his part, he got all huffy and said that that's not "how his mind works". But anyways come the day of the presentation, it was going (relatively) well. Come the actual presentation, when we got to this person's part (which was in the first 3 minutes) he basically got completely muddled up, presented his slides, then repeat presented one of his other slides, and took up 5 minutes instead of the 3!! We were incensed!! And then, before I got up to speak, he had the nerve to tell me I only had *2* minutes instead of 3!! Gah. Blood pressure boiling even as I type this.

And *then* during report writing, we checked his work, wich he supposedly worked on for the past 2 days, and according to another groupmate, he had "nothing worth handing in". So not only did we have to do our own bits, some of us had to work on this person's part as well and basically wrote it all for him! I just think sometime the university should check their potential students' level of knowledge before letting them in. My team wasn't the only one with complaints, each group had their own "special case".


Okay, rant over. Watching X Factor finals now and it's gooood..Need to start packing soon, I'm off to Tunisia with A and C tomorrow!
