I think I can safely say yesterday was the least festive raya I've ever been through in the years I've been here. I had class from 9-5 after which the open houses were pretty much closed, and I was tired anyways. Went home, had some takeout Nandos and watched 6 episodes of Grey's Anatomy with my housemate. Spoke to my family, hello waterworks!

The last 3 years we've always done something for raya, eiether with the Bruneians, or even with my housemates last year when we had a huge Eid dinner and stuffed our faces. But this year? Pfft. I don't know enough people here to go raya-ing with or anyone's house to visit for raya. Methinks it was a bit pedah to even make new baju raya this year.

I've also alwaya had C with me, and we've always gone through the whole homesickness/raya-sickness crying episodes together =( God I think it's kinda hit me that this whole being in a new city thing? Isn't very cool. C and A are coming over for the weekend though, can't wait to see them, it's been a while...

Finally getting round to posting, been exhausted the last couple of days since I've been back from my field trip!

The trip was great fun, *so* tiring, we were up by 7am every morning and came back at about 530-7 every evening! Only good thing was, we had no evening work, compared to the fieldtrips I had in Leeds. It was probably the most relaxed trip I've had. It was also the most comfy too, we were put up in 3 star hotels with breakfasts, delish dinners and even packed lunches, complete with crips, water and chocolate bar! Lol! Most of my evenings were spent relaxing, catching up on sleep and getting to know the coursemates..We probably had *one* bad day, when we had to climb up and down about 4 hills throughout the day; I am *so* unfit! Like I said, it's been a while since my last trip =P And since it was our last night before leaving for London the next afternoon we dragged our sorry asses out on the night to get some drinks and do some hardcore dancing lol! Me and my roomie got back at about 4am and we had to get up for breakfast at 730 the next morning; so we were not the cheeriest of creatures the next day...Speaking of which, I was actually refused entry into the club at first because the bouncer didn't think I looked "over 18"!! I couldn't believe it!! Flattering, I guess, but such a hassle especially since I had no id on me and had to grab a cab back to the hotel to get some id =P I was determined to have a good time after that haha..

Gone to bed embarassingly early since I've been back, but I have an exam to prepare for this Friday that I've done no work on yet =/ Was supposed to do some today since it's a halfday; but spent the day shopping and watching telly. Heheh our sky is properly installed now so our nights are spent on the couch flicking through all the multitudes of shows and channels that we have!

Cirque du Celebrite is on now, so I am off!

What is a fasting person to do during her 3 hour lunch break? Blog, of course! Had to pass up the chance for a free lunch today; the department admin asked me and some of my coursemates to help tutor this french girl in english over lunch today. Condition was, we would make sure she understood the language perfectly and in return, we'd get our lunch put on the departmental tab. It couldn't have come at a worse time!

Oh yeah, have I mentioned that I am currently on a celeb lookout while I'm in London? No? Well, now I have. Anyways, yesterday I spotted my first celeb(s)! Well, I didn't technically my housemate did, but let's not talk semantics lol! Was in Leicester Square in search of something to eat when we saw Girls Aloud standing outside Cafe De Paris. Would've asked to take a photo with them but they seemed slightly stroppy and in a not-to-be-disturbed mood. But at least I saw them heheh..

Studied about a Malaysian oil field today, and when my lecturer put the area map out, you could just about make out Brunei on the map. I was pointing Brunei out to my coursemate when my lecturer goes "Is there anyone from Brunei here?" I raised my hand tentatively and he asled me (in front of everyone!) whethere I was being sponsored, was I from Seria, etc. Heheh never ever has Brunei got that much recognition in any of my classes before. Well, certainly not when I was at Leeds anyways.

Can't wait for the weekend, I need a good massage to sort out my aches and pains from the week lol! Also planning to watch the movie "The Departed" and hopefully sort my room out. I've given up on going to shops and I've just ordered everything I need online.

Hey all =) Hope everyone has had a good weekend, I've finally started my term in uni. It's been ok so far, I start lectures tomorrow; the past couple of days were just registration, freshers' fairs and getting to know our coursemates. Oh yeah, and we got our schedule for the year...Talk about packed!! For the next 12 months, all it shows are 9-5 days everyday except Wednesday where the afternoon is cleared for sports and Thursday when its 9-6. And there're only 2 lectures per day, i.e. two 3 hours lectures. Everyday. Eek! Talk about a warm welcome to the world of a postgrad eh?

I have several fieldtrips lined up too. Next Tuesday I'm off for a week to Dorset; then I have a 2 day fieldtrip sometime in February. The one I'm most excited about is in April; I'll be speding 2 weeks in Utah!! And, if things go to plan, I might even have the chance to spend a couple of days in California attending a conference!! I'm keeping my fingers very tightly crossed that things go to plan lah heheh...

Went to the Freashers' Fair today, think I might take up dance and choir again this year..I've also joined the ArtSoc where members get 50% off hit broadway shows like Wicked and The Producers. Busy year lah, I don't know if I'll have a chance to do even half of these things!

My coursemates seem ok so far, I was so nervous about meeting everyone. Its such a multinational course though, I am no longer the only foreign girl! Yay! Will probably get to know people better during the upcoming field trip. Well, hopefully lah, I'm not the most chatty of creatures with people I don't know...

Now that I'm back in uni, I'm knackered by about 9pm. Especially since its puasa, by about 3 or 4 I'm about ready to go to bed! In fact I can hear my bed calling my name now...
