My room is a dump!!! My things from Leeds were delivered today and I haven't finished sorting them all out yet. I don't think I have enough space for it all actually =/ Keep putting it off as well, waiting for someone to get here so they can help me heheh...I should've taken a photo of my room before the things arrived, when everything was all pristine. Now my mom would say my bilik looks like "kapal pacah" =P

At least we have a telly now, and a PS2 again. Roll on, Guitar Hero!! lol! Last weekend before term starts, so methinks I should enjoy the last of my free time before I give everything up to the deity called University.

I received a proper, honest-to-god, handwritten letter in the post today! Lol..No prizes for guessing who it was from, the same person who's going to help me unpack lah =D Heheh I'm writing this down solely for my own purpose, to remind me maybe a couple of years down the line of the day he wrote to me =)

Been listening to Justin Trousersnake's album the past few days; he's got some sexy tunes on the album, those of you who haven't heard it go, go now! (Either to the kadai or to your computer ;o)) My song du jour is JT's My Love, go check it out =)

Gonna call Sky people up now, to see if they can slot our satellite installation anytime soon =)

Have a good weekend my pretties xoxoxox

Hopefully going to register at my new uni tomorrow so I might actually have a valid student card by this time tomorrow instead of using my old, expired leeds card when I ask for a student discount. The past 2 weeks I've kinda showed the shop staff my card with my finger hiding my completion date (21/7/2006) lol! =P It's worked most times and the other times, I kinda have to make puppy eyes at the people and tell them that I'm still a student, I just haven't registered at my university. Honest! *blinkblink*

Had a pretty chilled weekend, the last couple of nights we've all slept at 2-3am just bumming around the lounge chatting, so I've been getting up just before noon the next day. Saturday we went to Tottenham Court Road to get a textbook for P; had to walk miles to get to the shop though, roads were closed for pedestrian use. I was in the mood to shop but after browsing through several shops I couldn't find anything I liked and gradually became more cranky lol! I blame tiredness, thirst and hunger as well though, it *was* the first day of Ramadhan yesterday. Had a good first sungkai though, P prepared his yummy lambchops =) Also went for our first (hopefully of many) shisha as a house session lol!

Explored Portobello Market today, it's a short 10 minute walk from my place, with loads of kitsch, cute, one-off shops along the way. Managed to get a skirt and a dress from one of the stalls (although P told me off for my appalling haggling skills). Wanted to get so many more things, a scarf and some jewellery, but I was physically dragged away from the stalls by P. On our way home, passed by another shop selling many many pretty clothes and I managed to break free from P and ran in lol! 3 dresses tried on later, P finlly relented and bought me the one I liked best =D Heheh..bless him.. He should just learn to never stand between a woman and her purchases. There was a cute bakery called the Hummingbird Bakery in the market too, it sold the prettiest little cupcakes and cakes...The cakes were just too tempting and I ended up getting 2 slices of this bloodred vanilla flavoured cake called Red Velvet (Vanilla cake with a slight chocolatey taste and cream cheese icing, according to the box) I have to admit I only bought it cause it was such a unique colour for a cake, but it is absolutely delicious!! I sense many a visit to that place this year, especially after puasa, to hang out for coffee and cakes =D

Happy fasting everyone!! xoxox

Man, I miss him already..c'mon Friday!

A little over a year ago, when I had just got back for summer after my field project, I was MSNing with her and she told me that someone had been asking her about me and for my number while I'd been away. So I asked her who it was, and when I found out I was ever so slightly mystified because I've only met this person once, during first year, and after that we never really met, even though there were apparently more than one bruneian event we both attended. It was probably cause we didnt/don't run in the same social circles. So basically, I was a bit wary, but I said yeah he can have my number if he really wants it, and he texted me a couple of days later while I was at work. I remember giving him the Spanish Inquisition, like where have we met, why do you want my number, who told you about me, etc etc. I think it got on his nerves a bit lol! Well, you never know if someone might be crazy or something right? =P

So to cut the story short, we arranged to meet up while I was in Bandar to catch the Singaporean horror film The Maid. I brought some of my friends along, because honestly? I didnt really want to meet him on my own lol! I guess the meeting must have went well, because he asked me for lunch the next day, and came down to Lumut a couple of times after that to hang out. =) I guess I realised I liked him when not a day went by when I didnt get into a lengthy text conversation with him, even when I was away on holiday! And I'd get cranky if I didn't get a reply quick =P Phone bill was massive that month =/ He sent me off at the airport when I went back to the Uk and endured all the weird looks my family members gave him haha...He stayed in Brunei for further 2 weeks after me and those 2 weeks kinda confirmed how I felt about him. And I guess he felt the same cause we got together not long after that!

Things have been going well, and it's now been a year since we first got together. The time's passed by really quickly, it definitely didnt feel like it's been a year. I'm pleasantly surprised we've made it this far because in all honesty, he wasn't the kind of guys I used to go for; the complete opposite of them in fact! I won't tell you what my type used to be but suffice to say he wasn't it lol! We've had our ups and downs lah but which couple hasn't? At the end of the day I know he's the one I can turn to when I need someone to make me feel better, someone to use as a punching bag (sometimes literally), someone to bounce my ideas off of and know that he'll give me his honest take on it. What more could I ask for? =)

Finally have the time (and wireless, stolen) to sit down and post. My flight was uneventful, if not slightly too full, sudah tah we didnt get personal screens, we also didn't have anything to do on the plane =P I didn't even charge my ipod cause I was so sure we were gonna get a retrofitted plane. Hmph. Got to London at about 6am, and went through immigrations and secutiry without a glitch, although the immigrations lady did ask me to repeat my course name about 3 times, petroleum bah petroleum, nda jua you can mistake that word for anything else =P P was in the arrivals hall to help me with my 5 suitcases (I had to pile my trolley so high I could barely see over it!) The next couple of days were spent in a jetlagged haze, going to bed relatively early and getting up and 2 am, 4 am and finally 6 am.

Met up with Mels on Saturday for a bit of sushi and catch up session =) Was good to see you hun, lemme know when you're in the area next otays? Or come and stay with me if you get lonely ;o) Mona arrived the next day, Sunday and we went out for dinner at Mawar's cause I hadn't seen her since.. paintball?? Same thing goes to you Mons, sound2 ah if you're around =)

Moved into my new place on Sunday and I have to say I *love* it!! I was a bit worried that it would be in the middle of nowhere or really really dingy cause most of the houses we've seen online was like that. But I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Its a 2 bedroomed basement flat located quite centrally; close to (lots and lots) of shops and its about 30 minutes to my campus...It's been refurbished recently so everything's quite new..heheh basically I'm a happy bunny lah =)

However, the reason I decided to come back a couple of weeks before term started was so my friend and I could go househunting, but now that we have a house, I find tht my days are stretching out ahead of me haha.. Specially since my telly and PS2 hasn't arrived from the storage company yet..The last few days were spent exploring the area; finding a route to uni, the nearest halal butchers, tube station, bus route, etc etc...Gonna have dinner with my friends tonight, but before that there're a couple of errands I need to run..

Tomorrow's a big day, will be taking a daytrip out of London =D

Details in next post.

Byeee! xoxoxox

I'm putting off packing by blogging instead. I just cant muster up the motivation to do it; this summer I really feel I haven't had enough of a break, and now I'll be going back to uni?? Man =( I haven't even emptied my bags from when I came back for summer, so I have quite a job cut out for me tonight and tomorrow. So far, I count at least 7 pairs of shoes I'll be taking with me lol!

Got my new camera tadi, but its still charging up so won't be able to fiddle with it *just* yet, but I like it. I think. I'm used to my old camera, it'll take a while to get used to this one..But it's got a big-ass display screen though, all the better to admire my camwhoring photos with haha...

Hmm.. I don't actually have anything significant to post about, so I'll leave you guys with this tale of 2 blondies.

Me and a friend were looking for a photocopy machine so we could copy some documents. We walked into this office and found one, except I couldnt work out where to put the papers I wanted to copy in..So I proceeded to poke, push, lift and pull every part of the thing over and over. All to no avail. Me and my friend had a loud discussion about why the heck we couldn't find the slot, swearing at the stoopid machine for being so difficult. After about 3 minutes, I finally realised the reason there wasn't a place to slot the papers was because we were standing in front of a printer, not a photocopier! *blush* We scarpered out of there double-time, let me tell you =P

Next post will probably be from London so..bye all!! xoxoxo

Well there goes another day of my so-called "break" before going back into the studying world. Today was meant to be my last day at work, whereby I'd finish my report and hand it in by the end of the day. All plans were screwed when I got an email telling me that I am expected to present my work for the past month tomorrow. To a whole bunch of senior technical experts. Without any earlier warning. F*ck was one of the many colourful words that came to mind, and my lips =P I'd already made plans to spend some time with my friends before I left and tie up loose ends and all that. Gone. So here I am, with neither my presentation nor my report complete and feeling less than a happy bunny. Bleh.

I got a proper farewell from my colleagues in the morning too, before the stupid email came through. Bless my department head, he only found out it was my last day today and he still managed to organise a small makan for me. And to top it off, I was given a sweet little red, see-through 512MB pendrive as a leaving present! Lol..Yep I love my department =D I definitely wouldn't mind joining them when I come back for good, the people there are superfriendly and cause it's only a small department, everyone interacts a lot more than when I was in a larger department like the past 3 years. Isolation from the main building does have its benefits hehe..

Also, I have somewhere to stay for the year!! Big big thank you to Sab and Son for doing the legwork for us in our accommodation search heheh.. Me and my friend couldn't do much since we were both stil in Brunei, so these lovey ladies went round looking at all the houses for us =) My rent is going to be more than twice of what I paid last year, but hey, at least I'm not homeless no more! =D It's even walkable (I think) to my campus so hopefully I won't spend that much on transport yay!

Ok, enough procrastinating; I probably should just get this over and done with.

xoxox

Coco
- Oooh congratulations to you too, where and what are you going to be studying??

Did my food and toiletries shopping today; and I'm pretty sure I got everything on my list; rice cooker, milo, nestum, oreos (payah mencari di uk :P) and my ZA moisturiser which only seems to be sold in Asia. Bleh I get the feeling I'm gonna be wayyy over my luggage limit this Thursday. Picked up my baju raya from the tailor's too. Sent her 5, I only like 1, maybe 2 :P So I'm back to see her this Monday to make the necessary alterations.

Attended a BruLeeds gathering at the Mall today, met some of the new undergrad and postgrad students who'll be going to Leeds this year. Hehe not quite sure why I went, it's not like I'll be of any help to these people next year anyways. Speaking of postgrads, I cant believe I'm a postgrad now!! I remember the postgrads in Leeds (and in other unis really) always seemed to be busy and we never saw much of them. I got the impression they led quite a busy, quiet, more library work as opposed to social time kinda life. Great :P Also, most postgrads we used to refer to as "Kaka" just because they were a couple of years older'n us undergrads. I'm not ready for *anyone* to start calling me Kaka F*** in the near future thanks very much! I think I'm gonna pretend to be an undergrad and see how long I can get away with it lol!

My friends and I have had several mass email discussions in the office about getting older. The new employee still want to be students, the finalists cant believe they're graduating and the postgrads...well you know how the postgrads feel haha.. We've decided to form a society called GiD - Graduates in Denial (Of Aging) lol! Sad, much? Think we might even set up a blogsite so we can keep each other updated on our office/uni/offshore lives. Heheh I remember when all I wanted to do was grow up, I couldn't wait to be 16, then 18, then 21. Now, at 22, I'm thinking "Hey, it wouldnt be so bad if I celebrated my 21st birthday again. and again. and again."

21 was a good age =P

Speaking of birthdays:

Happy Advanced Birthday Nana!! Hope you have a wonderful day filled with love and happiness (and many many presents lol) *hugs*

Whee! I got myself a new toy!! =) Well..I don't have it with me *yet* but very soon, very very soon *rubs hands in glee* The day before I fly back to the Uk to be exact lol! =P My other camera got busted, said it had a "lens error" and didnt want to turn on fully? Well, it was past its prime anyways, but it's served me well for the past 3 years bless it...

You know when you get that feeling that you're starting to get a little more.. softer and squishier than before? I.e. meaning you've gained weight? Yep, been feelng that for a couple of days now, and I can't even blame it on water retention (P keeps trying to convince me thats all it is =P) So yeah.. I feel I might be the Pillsbury DoughGirl any day now! =P Will hold the diet til I get back lah, after all with all the walking we do over there, I'm bound to lose *some* weight! ..Right? =(

Got my class schedule a couple of days back and apparently I have a field trip in my first week at uni! And it's a week long! And its bulan puasa!! =/ Although I was talking to a friend and he said that they stayed in 3 star hotels when they did the trip last year, so that doesn't sound too bad? Lol Leeds had static caravsns, this uni has 3 star hotels?? No wonder field trip fees cost a fortune here =P

Still havent sorted out (affordable) accommodations...If things gets bad, I might have to be a Big Issue girl and sell magazines with my dog on a street corner somewhere =P

And on that note, much love all! xoxoxo

It's been a busy week, with visits, meetings and fuctions taking me out of the office and away from my work. It's getting to the point that I'm dreading getting emails about future visits and things cause I'm beginning to think that I might *just* not make my work deadlines =S Most of the other scholars finished their attachment yesterday, but I've got about a week and a bit more to go, so I'm gonna slog it out next week, no more socialising and mass emailing for me! Although the new graduates have just started at the office so...hmm..lol!

Yesterday was the contract signing ceremony for the 21 new scholars, and to a lesser extent, for the 5 students continuing onto MScs this year. Since it was quite a big function, I had to wear something I haven't worn in probably...3 years now? Lol..no prizes for guessing what it was. Tudong lah :P We were told during the briefing the day before that we'd have to wear it, so Thursday evening after work, I was off to the first shop in KB that sold fabrics and got the first tudong that sort of matched my baju. On the offchance someone else wouldnt be wearing it (and hence I wouldnt be the only one without it), I took my tudung with me to the office in the morning instead of putting it on straight away. Haha.. can you guys tell that I wasnt keen? :P Insyallah, one day I hope my hati will terbuka enough that I will want to wear the tudung voluntarily. It's happened to a lot of my friends already, and one day I'm sure it'll happen for me.

Been watching Supernatural on dvd lately and it's pretty good. The 2 brothers who are starring are good eye-candy so I'm sure that helps keep my interest up heheh.. Its basically like Buffy, only with 2 guys and no vampires (so far!). Same wisecracks and one liners as in Buffy though.

Off for lunch now, will try and persuade Daddy to go for sushi and maybe a spot of shopping..

Enjoy the weekend y'all :) xoxoxox

Ps: Congrats to Neez, who's finally been approved for her Masters at my old alma mater, Leeds University! Hope you're doing ok with the last minute preps before leaving, and I'll see you around yes?
