 Tuesday, January 31, 2006Heys everyone, just a quick update to let everyone know I'm still alive and well =)I'm into my 2nd week of my final semester in my final year at Leeds and its kinda.. unbelievable. How'd the last 3 years rush by so quickly? I remember dreading leaving home for 3 years, and missing my friends and family in Brunei. But who'd ever think that I'm now dreading returning home, cause I'll be missing everyone and everything here?? Obviously, I dont mean that I dont wanna go back to Brunei, ever, but the time's gone by so quickly here, and I just feel that there's loads more I wanna do before I go home and start a new chapter in my life... Anyways, enough cheesiness lol.. I have a *huge* workload this year already!! I thought that after handing my dissertation in, I'd have a bit more of a relaxing sem compared to the previous 2 but no...I'm already behind on a ton of reading for each of my 5 modules this sem =/ And I've got so many assignments, including hosting and doing seminars for almost all my modules, 3 projects (just for *1* module), and lord knows what else! =S Gonna have to start getting down to it pretty damn soon, dont need a repeat of last sem *shivers* Haha.. damn these uni people, imagine, giving a 3rd year student so much work?? lol =D Last weekend was really good, but not restful/relaxing at all =/ I met up with D, one of my oldest friends *ever* =) She;s in Glasgow for the yea but cause I've been ultra busy since I came back after summer, I hadnt had the chance to visit her...We planned to meet up in London and it was great! Thought i'd be a bit awkward to start talking at first since we haven't seen each other in a while, but the conversation flowed really easily =) Didnt get to sleep til about 330 am on the Fri night when we met up, and got up at 830 the next morning! =/ Not by choice though, let;s just say we had some quite... inconsiderate roomies? =P We went shopping for a big date she's got thats coming up as well lol, it was like old times..also managed to fit in sightseeing around the major London attractions with her and her friends hehe... Also, met up with A, Fom's friend who we went to NYC with last XMas =D Cause D wasn't arriving til about midning on Friday I got A to keep me company til then lol.. He's such a schweetie, we barely know each other but he took me for dinner, then we went and had some good ol fashioned arcade fun at Trocadero =D Hadn't been on a bumper car in aboslutely ages!! Lol..Got him some bubble tea from Chinatown as well, and it didnt really agree with him the poor guy lol.. I wouldnt let him throw it away and told him he had to finish the drink cause I'd be offended if he didnt, and he had to force himself to drink it heheh... Went down to see P on the Saturday night, and on Sunday we watched lion and dragon dances by the civic centre, to celebrate the Chinese New Year.. I hadnt seen a lion dance since forever and it reminded me of when me and my mom would watch the show at Chung Hua in Seria coupla years back =( Hmm.. just waiting for 4pm now, gonna meet the girls up in town for some sushi, and a spot of ice-skating afterwards.. lol I doubt Bambi's ready to return to the ice yet though, not with her current "injury" haha... Take care babe! xxx Anon - Um.. that's nice for you =P Tuesday, January 24, 2006It hasnt been a good week =/I'm sitting here in my room, waiting for my landlord to come round cause my ceiling's f*cking leaking!!! Was woken up at 730 this morning by the dripping and I swear, I stayed in bed for another 5 minutes, listening to it and praying tht i was just imagining it or that it'd go away.l.. =( This house really doesn't like me.. what with the toilet flooding about 3 times, and now my ceiling's leaking =( Times like this I wish I had family here so I coul just move into theirs lol..Will probably have to camp out in one of the other girls' rooms...Thank god this happened after my dissertation and exams cause I just wouldnt hv been able to deal with it at the time, wouldprobably have had a mental breakdown or sth =/ To top it off, last weekend, I managed to hurt myself in a very sensitive spot and I now can't walk properly without being in pain =( I'd tell you guys how exactly I injured myself, but it's just too... ridiculous =P My housemates massaged the area last night and I was crying and yelling from the pain =( Argh!! I cannot wait for the weekend, will hopefully be meeting a coupla friends and seeing P for a bit.. Where's the bloody landlord?!!! xoxoxo Friday, January 20, 2006I'm baaacccckkkk!!! =DFinally, finally finally! Thought the day would never come lol..Finished my last exam AND handed my dissertation in at 230pm today! *cartwheels* lol...I've been SO smiley ever since lol hehe... The last 3 wks have been horrendous, what with staying in my room the whole day, not getting enough sleep, not socialising, not having fun and worst of all, no *shopping*! haha =P It was a strange sensation when I finally printed and bounded my thesis today...On one hand I was SO relieved that it was finally over, this big cloud that's been hanging over me since September..But on the other hand, I also feel a tad sad.. cause that piece of work's been my life the last coupla months and I didnt want it to be in anyone else's hands! Lol.. I was telling the admin people to please take care of my baby as I handed it over haha...Took some pictures of her too, for remembrance haha...Might post some up later... It's been a horrible three weeks seriously..Never expected 3rd year to be so....stressful..Baru the first half, last 6 onths as an undergrad to go!! *shivers* the exams werent great, and the stress of having to finish my project along with studying for exams had been taking its toll on me. Unexpected crying fits occurred about every other day and I thank god for my beautiful housemates, who were soo supportive of me...Couldnt have gotten through it without them around to help keep me sane =) Thanks guys, <3 end ="/" monday ="/"> ~MockingBird~ { 22:05 }

I still haven't finished my dissertation and that's due in less than 2 weeks =( I don't think I can study *and* work on my report at the same time. The End have a nice day! =D Post a Comment Wednesday, January 04, 2006Back in Leeds, my flight got in about 3pm this afternoon. Went straight home and found the house dark and empty. None of the lights seemed to work and the house smelt from being locked up for the past coupla weeks (and of other things =/). Lol.. really made me glad to be back home =PThank god N came home not long after I arrived, I would not have enjoyed being alone at home for long periods of time, I need people and chatter around me, like 24/7...Went shopping for some groceries (cupboards were bare) , did some catching up with N and had dinner, and now here I am. Have a meeting with my supervisor tomorrow, but I'm not in the mood to work yet. I need to come down from my holiday high lol. Guess I've got post-holiday and New Year's blues =( There was absolutely nothing to look forward to in coming back from Leeds except exams and my projects. And I have to admit, I'm missing P quite a fair bit too =( Exams + Projects + Gloomy Weather + Missing him = Not-so-happy bunny =/ Right, I shall be off before I depress anyone else lol... Might watch an episode of Lost... Nights all!! xoxoxo Monday, January 02, 2006Hey everyone!!! How's the new year treating y'all so far?? =) Got back from NYC yday afternoon..flight was pretty good actually, went by quicker than expected (no women in my laps =P). Got into Manchester at about 145 pm and ran around trying to get through immigration and get my baggage before my train to Soton at 255..Luckily, made it onboard my train with about 3 minutes to spare =D The ride was *super* long, kept trying to sleep, but was kept awake by the thought of missing my stop =P I have to say, I appreciate all the effort P makes into coming up to visit now =SSpent last night and the whole of today relaxing and catching up on sleep...Still kinda jetlagged, didnt manage to get more than 5 hrs sleep last night, hopefully I'll get more tonight...Checked out the shops and sales around the city today and lordhelpme I did *more* shopping!! =P pretty good shopping here to be honest, thats probably why he never wanted me to come down and visit, would never have left its malls =D Shopping inventory from over the last week : Tops, pair of jeans, Coach bag, shoes, some cute PJs, etc etc =D Speaking of shopping, did I mention I did so much shopping in the last coupla days in NYC I had to get a new bag to carry it all in?? *blush* I didnt even think I did tht much, but apparently so *rolleyes* Went to Soho with the guys, 5th Avenue with the ladies and the pier near Brooklyn Bridge for even *more* retail therapy =D =D Hello, maxed out charge cards!! Lol =P It wasnt helped by the fact that the States accepts UK debit cards so I was swiping mine practically every chance I got =P All in all, the trip was amazing...It was *so* good to have met everyone again and to catch up..The last night especially was memorable lol.. The hostel we stayed at in Brooklyn messed up our bookings and cancelled our rooms but they prepared a special "multi-purpose" room for us to stay in for the night...Got there at about 9pm, all ready to crash (Lonnnggg ride from Manhattan to Brooklyn), only to find out we were being housed in a boxing training room!! They had set up 10 aerobics training mats (yep, those kinds that you do yoga on) and provided us with sheets and towels. In this room filled with punching bags and had mirrors all round =S lol.. you just had to laugh man.. It ended up being a really good night..spent most of it talking and playing cards..and those mats are damn comfy! Lol.. who woulda thunk it eh..Hehe.. Definitely one for the memory scrapbook =D Pics up later, as soon as I get home.. Not looking fwd to home, cause its gonna mean getting right down and dirty with my books and projects =( Already, P's been nagging me about work..I swear, my mom's paid the boy and taught him some lessons, cause he nags just as well as my mom when it comes to my studies =P Right, getting to be a mighty long post, so I is off now..Gonna transfer some stuff from notebooks to paper and then off to bed =P Tag Replies: Jimbo - hun the link doesnt seem to work?
